The reason we run a BDTS is that we desire to reach the backpackers of the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many backpackers are traveling throughout the world to get answers to who they are, what life is about & what to do with their lives. Many of them return home without answers or even get lost on their travels, stuck in drugs or just living the same life they tried to escape from. It is our heart to share the love of Christ with them in many ways. We will travel on the trails less traveled and take the Gospel not only to backpackers, but also to the locals.
To introduce to you this specific DTS we want to give you a brief description of the two main kinds of backpackers.
A backpacker from Europe often defines himself as a budget traveler who wants to dig deeper into foreign cultures, hang out with fellow travelers, is flexible and usually very relaxed. He loves to meet new people, talk about deep stuff, hear each others stories and do the offered tours.
On the other hand, North Americans picture backpacking as a trip to the great outdoors/ national parks being alone with nature. They use this time for a short get away, a break from every day life.
Goal: Our goal is to radically impact the backpackers with the good news of Jesus Christ through friendship evangelism and to support and establish long term ministries.
