Meet the team

Backpacking.is.it was established by Dave and Maz Wraight from the UK in 2002. Initially they contacted churches around Australia in backpacker hotspots encouraging them to become actively involved in supporting and reaching out to backpackers.  In 2005 the Network expanded to New Zealand and at that time Jamie and Tracy Scott became the Australian representatives. Dave and Maz returned to their church in the UK and Jamie and Tracy worked to further develop the network. It became clear that in order to progress this ministry there was a need for more core team members. 

In 2007 after much prayer and through some divine appointments Jamie and Tracy met Stu & Kristi and Casey & Christa.  We all shared the same dreams and visions and it was clear that we should team up to take the ministry onto the next level.  We decided to rebrand as ‘Faith Travels’ and are excited to see where God wants to take it from here.
 

 

Jamie and Tracy, UK (now based in Australia)

Jamie and Tracy returned to the UK from an around the world trip with a burden to see a backpacker ministry developed globally. After meeting another UK couple who were pioneering such a ministry in Australia they decided to get involved.
Jamie and Tracy are passionate about backpacking and just can’t seem to shake that travel bug!  Jamie’s a keen adventure activities enthusiast while Tracy loves to shop (an equally dangerous hobby!!). They have a son called Ethan who keeps them on their toes and they love him to bits. Jamie runs his own window cleaning business and works as a Substitute teacher.  Jamie and Tracy are active members of their church in Petersham, Sydney where Jamie serves as a member of the mission’s board.  

 

 

Casey and Christa, Canada

A few years after returning from a backpacking trip in Australia, God birthed a vision in Casey’s heart to reach backpackers with the love & truth of Christ. In 2007 Casey & Christa set out to fulfill this vision as they went to Australia and met Jamie & Tracy, Stu & Kristi who all had a like heart and vision.

Christa and Casey have a passion to see young people live in the fullness of all that God has for their lives and a deep desire to make Jesus know to this generation. Casey has worked in the automotive business for the past 9 years and loves the sun but his greatest passion is preaching the Word. Christa too loves the sun but not its effects on the skin; she is a professional esthetician at a medical spa. Casey & Christa are committed and involved at their home church Christian Life Assembly in Langley, British Columbia.
